Description: This stunning Art Deco umbrella or cane stand was handmade in Germany in the 1930s from a single sheet of brass – hammered and with unusually large, finger sized perforations. While the irregular surface and prominent holes give this object a playful and decorative quality, the clarity of design and sparseness of elements are also clear references to the Bauhaus ideas of this period.
